David Lynch, The Unified Layer, and Consciousness

I haven’t heard it put more consumable and succinct as the idea of the unified layer described by David Lynch. This is god, the spirit, all that is, us, whatever you want to call it it’s the point at which all things are created and destroyed and where we return after death. Below watch David Lynch break down and explain this Unified layer and how it interacts with our 3D world. More importantly how you can reach it through Transcendental Meditation. David Lynch is an American Filmmaker, artist and writer born in the early 1940’s. The videos shown below are taken from recordings he made during a 16 country lecture tour on Transcendental Meditation back in the late 1960’s. The first clip is a depiction of how the unified layer works and how it interacts with our 3 dimensional world we call reality. https://youtu.be/BH4qD5Fzyjk?start=740&?end=1040 He then develops this concept further…

The Deathbed Perspective

I’ve been struggling with just general life stuff over the last few weeks when I discovered what I’m calling my deathbed perspective. To give you an idea, they’re not much different or extraordinary as anyone else’s: How I can get out of the job I’m at?How do I navigate someone I can’t stand working with? How do I lift my girlfriend up when she’s down? How do I make it all better for those close to me?How do I enjoy life while still living and working in it?How am I going to make enough money so I can pursue what I really want to do?How will I understand why my mom has just forgotten to call me anymore? These are the things coming up for me as I sat down to meditate this morning. Something pretty monumental came up. I decided to picture myself on my deathbed surrounded by loved ones and…

The Merry Mindset

Getting Into the Christmas Spirit This time of year had me thinking about how different it is than any time of year. People are generally more considerate to each other, we donate more, we do things for strangers we may not do the other 11 months out of the year. Why is that? What about this time of year is different than any other? It All Comes Down to Set & Settings We live the last few weeks of December in gratitude. Society encourages us to think about others, be grateful for what we have, and share with others who are less fortunate. We surround ourselves with holiday music, decorations, lights, good food, family, and friends. We prepare for the big day with intention and purpose. It’s fun, exciting, and feeds a part of us we keep lean and mean the rest of the year. So what are we actually…

Celebrate The Small Wins

As human beings we focus so hard on the negative. We beat ourselves up, internalize, and walk around shameful of our defects. We rarely take time to celebrate small victories. Many of them go unnoticed by our own awareness. Just as living in a space of gratitude can drastically change your perspective so can celebrating small wins have a dramatic impact on our self worth and self confidence. Celebrate vs Bragging Very subtle difference between the two and this is just my interpretation. If you’re telling more than three people about your win you’re most likely looking for validation. If you’re telling others and sharing in an effort to one up someone else, you’re not celebrating. Celebrating is just between you and you. It’s an awareness that you accomplished something. It really doesn’t matter what it is. Celebrate that you made your bed and started the day with an accomplishment.…
